The law of sin and death

Romans 8:2For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.
God’s laws are like natural laws. You cannot make them go away. If you jump off a high building you will be injured or die. The only way around this is by a miracle of God. Freedom in Jesus Christ is that miracle that saves us from certain eternal death and damnation. We all jumped off that metaphoric high building on the day we were born into this world. The only thing that can save us from the penalty of the law is faith in Jesus Christ.
